THE BATTLE FOR THE COEUS TROPHY RETURNS! Cobb County Bar Association's Pub Night Team Trivia is back!Get your team together; start studying the mundane; and be prepared to do battle for intellectual supremacy.Food (not dinner) and beverages will be provided.The location:  Mansour Center on Roswell Street a mile or so east of the Square on the corner of Roswell Street and Highway 41.
Time:  Start at 5:30 p.m.
Date: August 7th, Thursday

Teams should be no more than 6 brains and no fewer than 4.  We will place folks on teams that need to be placed.  
****The cost is $10 PER PERSON****

SENATOR TO ADDRESS BAR LUNCH!

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE OF CHANGE:  Senator Saxby Chambliss will be our speaker at the Cobb County Bar Association’s next General Monthly Meeting on August 21, 2008 at 12:00 pm at the Marietta Country Club, so be sure to attend!  Honorable Marvin S. Arrington, Sr. was rescheduled, and will be speaking at an upcoming meeting, to be determined.  If you plan to make the August 21st luncheon, it is strongly requested that you RSVP to terri@cobbcountybar.org or 770.424.2947.  Do not forget to bring your canned goods and food supplies for the CSF and Must Ministries FOOD DRIVE!!

August 21, 2008 The Young Lawyers Division is asking all Bar members to help make our school supply drive a success. Your donations will be used to buy needed supplies for children at Birney, Milner, and Argyle Elementary Schools. You may bring supplies to the next General Monthly Meeting at Marietta Country Club on August 21, 2008 - there will be a designated drop area there.
August 22, 2008 Please note that the Small Firm / Solo Practitioner's Section is scheduled for their annual CLE on August 22, 2008 in the Commissioner's Meeting Room, registration begins at 8:00 a.m. More details to follow.  
September 5 , 2008 Annual "ETHICS, PROFESSIONALISM & MALPRACTICE" continuing legal education seminar with Patrick Longhi as program chair at Kennesaw State University Center in Kennesaw this year to be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 from 12:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and awards 3 CLE hours including 1 Ethics hour, 1 Professionalism hour and 1 Trial Practice hour.  
September 16 , 2008 The Alexis Grubbs Memorial Golf Tournament will take place at Brookstone Golf Club on September 16, 2008.  Lunch will be provided by Outback Steakhouse, and supper provided by Williamson Bros BBQ.  THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS AUGUST 15, 2008.  CLICK HERE for a registration/sponsorship form.
  The Cobb Bar is currently accepting applications for a part time Lawyer Referral Director.  Pay Commensurate with experience.  Please submit all resumes to terri@cobbcountybar.org.   
  The Cobb County Bar Association is participating in a food drive to benefit the Center for Family Resources, and Must Ministries.  Please bring by to the Bar Office or to our next luncheon your canned fruits and vegetables, canned meats, pasta, rice, beans, peanut butter, canned soups, cereal, laundry detergent, diapers, oatmeal, ramen noodles, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, dry beans, and/or dry potatoes.
  Established Marietta, Georgia family law attorney seeks associate with at least 5 years experience, including 3 years in family law litigation. Familiarity with Cobb County and other nearby county courts would be helpful. The successful candidate will be dedicated, willing to meet billable hour goals, and have exceptional legal research and writing skills.   The Cobb Bar Association's Minority Development Committee is developing a mentorship program in partnership with Georgia State University's School of Law.  The Minority Development Committee is dedicated to promoting diversity within the Cobb Bar Association to reflect and represent the diversity of the Cobb County community.
