The Cobb County Bar Association is proud and excited to present a very special 20th Annual Alexis Grubbs Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournamentto be held onTuesday, September 11, 2018, at Brookstone Country Club.

It is hard to believe that this will be the 20th, but the scholarship to which the proceeds are given has been a tremendous success. It has helped and encouraged so many students - 67 so far. Over $270,000 has been awarded to undergraduate students, and now it contributes additional funds to post-graduate students presently enrolled at Notre Dame Law School and the University of Georgia Law School, as well as to a Ph.D. student studying security issues. Winners have gone on to become lawyers, security personnel, employed by the FBI, forensic experts, among other careers. They have attended a myriad of schools, including Duke, MIT, Berkeley, Morehouse, Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia, the University of Alabama and several technical schools. These students have been honored in their communities, most particularly for their pro bono work and community service.

The most unusual characteristic of this Scholarship fund is that there are no administrative costs whatsoever, every penny raised goes to the students, all thanks to the Marietta Schools Foundation.

Much of the proceeds from this event are donated by individuals and corporate sponsors. Not only will our sponsors be donating to a worthwhile cause, but their name and/or business will be prominently displayed on one of the golf course tee areas. In addition, our gold sponsors will include a foursome to play, and along with silver sponsors, they will be recognized on t-shirts, all tournament information and the Cobb Bar website.

This year is a special year. There will be many added aspects, including increased raffle prizes and additional recognition. Attached is a golf application for individuals or teams that would like to play, along with the sponsor information for your consideration.
